Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, P. T. S. D. has been linked to a neurological condition.
For example, when a person experiences a life-threatening environment or situation the body releases adrenaline which produces the fight or flight mindset elevating the physical and mental capacity to cope.
These life-threatening situations could include war zones, emergency response situations for police, fire, and paramedics.
Depending on how severe the perceived risk of life is the fight or flight mind set can lock in place. In this event the person continues to have an ongoing release of adrenaline that can create elevated physical and emotional reactions such as those listed below.
